Kathleen Stevens is a professional violist and violinist from Reading and Philadelphia, PA. She graduated from Ithaca College with a BM in viola performance in 2011 and recently graduated from Temple University in May 2026 with her MM. 

Kathleen is the cofounder and principal violist for the Berks Sinfonietta, an intergenerational chamber orchestra that focuses on performing underrepresented music and promoting local talent. She also performs with Reading Symphony, Lancaster Symphony, PA Philharmonic, PA Sinfonia, Brandywine Valley Symphony, Fulton Theater, Servant Stage, and many other regional ensembles as both a violist and violinist. She teaches private lessons from her home as well as for Orchestra Zone, a program funded by the Reading Symphony, which provides free lessons to instrumental students in the Reading School District.

During her two years at Temple University, she was a graduate Academic Intern studying viola performance with Kerri Ryan of the Philadelphia Orchestra. As part of her internship, she taught violin and viola lessons for Temple Music Prep’s Community Music Scholars Program.

This summer, she was the student facilitator for the Karen Tuttle Workshop hosted by the Cleveland Institute of Music, working alongside distinguished faculty including Carol Rodland, Sheila Browne, and Kim Kashkashian. She also was announced as the next director of the Bear Crossing Chamber Music Camp held in New Ringgold, PA.

While Kathleen works and travels frequently to Reading, Philadelphia, Lancaster, and other areas of Pennsylvania to perform, teach, and visit family, she now resides in Cleveland, OH pursuing her DMA at the Cleveland Institute of Music studying with Sheila Browne.

Kathleen enjoys baking, yoga, running, hiking, reading, podcasts, cats, socks, and tacos. She loves sharing these interests with her two children, Leo and Amaya.
